Michael Batchelor brings more than 30 years’ experience focused on wealth attraction, board training and development, grantmaking, strategic planning, branding and new product development to the Schultz & Williams team. He also brings on-site consulting experience with more than 50 community foundations and a range of other nonprofit organizations.

As the first paid staffer of The Erie Community Foundation, Michael has grown assets from $20 million to $275 million during his tenure; while distributing more than $300 million to deserving nonprofits.

As an instructor for the Center for Community Foundation Excellence, Michael trained hundreds of newcomers to this field. He established Erie Gives, a successful on-line giving program, Erie Vital Signs, a key indicator project, and The Nonprofit Partnership, a member-based capacity building organization.

Michael is a two-time president of the Pennsylvania Association of Community Foundations, founder of CEO Network and an elected member to several national field leadership positions. A popular speaker, he has delivered dozens of conference presentations. Prior to community foundations, he had a successful career in higher education fundraising, serving Hiram College (Hiram, OH), Gannon University (Erie, PA) and Villa Maria College (Erie, PA).

A skilled communicator and strategic thinker, Michael has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a master’s degree in Public Policy Analysis, both from Kent State University.
