NOLB Board asked S&W for help in organizing its annual giving structure and capacity to be prepared for a surge of interest in its mission following the launch of a new CBS comedy, The United States of Al.
The S&W StaffSolutions team jump-started their campaign by making the most of key personal connections, especially by Philabundance’s charismatic and well-liked executive director. This approach combined with outreach to former Board members and a $2MM grant awarded by the State of Pennsylvania, helped the campaign exceed its goal by year end.
“On behalf of Girard College, I want to thank Schultz & Williams for assigning Theresa Leinker to assist us as our interim Director of Marketing & Brand Communications these past four months. Theresa hit the ground running by getting our Annual Report completed. It had been delayed and Theresa ran with the ball—generating stories, gathering photos, and working closely with our designer, vendors and printer to ensure a timely and efficient process. She also worked with us on a number of marketing, social media, and communications projects. Theresa proved to be resourceful, dependable, and flexible. She showed enthusiasm for all the projects she juggled and endeared herself to our team. We will miss Theresa but look forward to working with her and other Schultz & Williams team members in the future.”
– Sylvia V. Bastani, CFRE, CPC, Vice President of Advancement & Strategic Partnerships
“For the past year, Schultz & Williams’ Karly Forman worked as interim administrator of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) Foundation. As we transition back to having our own staff, I want you to know it will be very, very, very hard for us to let go of Karly. She has done an outstanding job. With her help, we set records in giving, in numbers of donors and, most importantly, in the grants we were able to offer the worthy nonprofits seeking our support. Perhaps the highest compliment is that instead of going into executive session to finalize the transition to staff, we included Karly in our deliberations. We see Karly as our partner, a team member who consistently focuses on the Foundation’s success. Please know how grateful we are for all that we learned from her and the S&W team.”

“When we needed an interim Director of Development for a six-month period, Schultz & Williams provided a consultant who was the perfect fit for our operation. She got along well with the development staff, worked productively with the Dean and Board of Overseers, and helped the School achieve meaningful development goals before the end of its fiscal year. As part of our engagement, our consultant also enabled a seamless transition to a new, permanent Director of Development.”
– Sheila Raman, Director of Development, Arts and Culture
Independence Seaport Museum
“Schultz & Williams’ Senior Consultant Irv Hurwitz brought his broad experience, fundraising expertise and collaborative work style to our team, and he played a key role in creating a solid foundation for the growth of our Museum’s development program. He got our ship in order, and then helped to ensure a smooth transition to our new VP for Development so that she was in a position to hit the ground running.”
– John Brady, President and CEO
Vice President of Development Consulting
“We approach each client engagement as a partnership, which I think of as a goal-centered shared experience. In each case, our partnerships produce growth for our clients. Often it is a plan for growth of fundraising revenue, and other times it’s growing the philanthropy team’s resources, protocols and skills to realize the organization’s full potential. The best part of these shared experiences is that we both learn along the way. We walk through this knowledge-building process and create solutions and strategies together. That’s how S&W partnerships become enduring relationships.”
